Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffSeptember 13, 2004Intended to make grocery trips more efficient, the effort needed to master this program will send most users back to pen and paper. The interface is clean and fields are clearly labeled, but using Simply Shopping is simply not intuitive, meaning most users will need the tutorial and help files. For example, adding items to a shopping list isn't as straightforward as it should be. And the application lacks a Save or Apply button, which may cause users to erroneously fear shopping lists will be lost by clicking Close. On the plus side, shopping lists can be arranged according to a specific store's layout, and Simply Shopping notes coupon items. The program also accommodates shopping in multiple stores with differing layouts and includes a feature that houses recipes. You can store lists for multiple people, and lists can be copied and modified to create sublists. Simply Shopping runs smoothly, but its three-use trial limit is far too short to evaluate whether the program is worth buying. Typical shoppers won't need this application, but it may prove useful for caregivers of multiple households.
