Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffOctober 8, 2010Whether subliminal messages actually work is a matter that's still up for debate. For users who want to try them out and see what happens, MB Free Subliminal Message Software is not a bad choice. The software's publisher, Mystic Board, seems to put out a lot of software that is primarily an advertising vehicle. This is evidenced in the program's interface, which advises users in more than one place that they can make money online (which, of course, links to Mystic Board's Web site). Advertising aside, the interface is fairly straightforward, and the online Help is moderately useful. The guts of this software is a list of programs that users can choose from--for example, learning to say no, stop smoking, or find a mate--and accompanying affirmations. Users select which program(s) they want to use and then choose how often they want affirmations to last and how frequently they should flash on the screen. Once the program is running, the affirmations start flashing at the appointed frequency and duration. The point of subliminal messages is that they appear too quickly for us to be able to consciously process them, so the affirmations come across as a tiny, barely noticeable flash. It's somewhat annoying, though users who are really interested in trying subliminal messages may not mind. The program has a 30-day trial period, which is ample time for evaluation. It installs a desktop icon without asking and leaves a folder behind upon removal. We recommend this program to any user who is curious about subliminal messages.
