Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffApril 11, 2006This elephantine database lets you log the time you've spent on your paint-by-numbers artwork, but with all its installation hoops we expected a more robust program. Paint By Number Time Tracker is a whopping 40MB and requires that you install Alpha Five V7 for it to work. After you have everything installed, you'll need to input a username (pbn) and password (pbnpbn) to start this five-day trial. Its interface is rather drab-looking and unintuitive, with its primary functionality accessible through the Add/Edit Time Worked button. Once there, the drop-down menus are preloaded with choices (including item name, canvas number, and color number), and you'll find boxes for inputting the date worked and start and end times. The program calculates the time worked in hours and saves the record. From the Reports menu, you'll be able to create, print, export, or send via e-mail reports in PDF, HTML, RTF, or text based on several features, although you won't be impressed by the simplistic layout. The program has a search feature and you can add database listings via the Supporting Data menu. However, you can't upload image files, which we expected to be able to do with such a bloated download size. With this program's limited features, unintuitive design, and stingy five-day trial period, you may want to look elsewhere.
