Developer's DescriptionBy Stellaris SoftwareGet an extensive astronomy suite for Windows.Stellaris is a very comprehensive astronomy suite that goes well beyond displaying the nightly sky.Showing the positions of stars, planets, and Deep Sky objects for an arbitrary time and location isonly the beginning. The application's wide range of features addresses all users, from beginner to experienced. The Educator tool interactively demonstrates and explains astronomical concepts and currentphenomena. The Event Forecast automatically forecasts relevant astronomical events such asconjunctions and eclipses. Experienced users can go a step further and let Stellaris findoccurrences of user-defined phenomena, like "sunrise before 7 AM".Stellaris generates reports of past and future astronomical phenomena. A report contains data forone day/night, one month, or one year. While a night report contains data which is useful forone observation night, such as the visible planets, a month report also contains the positions ofthe Jovian and Saturnian satellites for the entire month. The application can calculate a wealth of data for all celestial bodies. This data can be calculatedfor an arbitrary time span, displayed as a graph, and exported as XML.A very useful feature is the Related Tasks window that suggests which actions you may want to takenext. If you are examining the Moon in the sky window, the Related Tasks window offers to display animage of the Moon, search for a lunar eclipse, or generate a report of the Moon's ephemerides forthe current year. This way, you are led through the application with very little learning effort.Stellaris also features an interactive Quick Tour and an extensive help file which explain all theapplication's features in detail.
