Each of the nine main composition steps is divided into chapters that address specific issues, such as library tips and types of introductions and conclusions. While the advice given is essentially complete and useful, the presentation leaves a bit to be desired. The e-book font and background colors and designs can be garish and hard to read, although it helps that the built-in HTML viewer lets you resize the text with the Font button. The poor-quality icons lend the whole document somewhat of an amateur feel. The two-day trial period is only long enough to allow you to make a few notes in the virtual margins, not really dig into the process. As a step-by-step textbook Writing Smart Papers can be a useful tool, but a more professional design and trial period would make it better.
