Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffJuly 12, 2005This software has the standard features we're looking for in a practical backup utility. Max Backup's run-of-the-mill interface lets you select the items to back up with a simple tick, though integration with Windows or drag-and-drop capability would boost its convenience factor a bit. System administrators and Webmasters will appreciate the ability to store data on an FTP server or a CD. You can create lists of files and folders to back up, and the program compresses, verifies, and password-protects your documents, securing them and saving space as well. The handy backup list and file watcher automatically create lists of files to back up based on file format. It's easy to schedule backup jobs to run at specific times, at regular intervals, or at every start-up. The 30-use trial is on the stingy side, but Max Backup is still a workable backup tool for any level of user.
